August – 1st through the 5th

Band Camp **

A week in early August where all band members (including color

guard) will learn the music, steps and formations for the

marching season show. They will work together as the whole

band, but also work with their section leaders.

Also, during the week the students are fitted for their uniforms.

While there is a lot of hard work during band camp; they do

manage to have fun throughout the week. There are spirit days

which has "prizes" for the most spirit.

All of the hard work is presented to families during the

Community Performance on Friday night at the end of band

camp.


Band Camp lunches **

As the band members work hard all day long, the Band Boosters

provide snacks and lunches throughout the week. Parent

volunteers are needed to help serve lunch and are greatly

appreciated. It is a fun being able to interact with the kids while

they relax for lunch.


Family cookout at Fox Brook Park- Wednesday for Band Camp

The Wednesday during band camp the Boosters reserve a space

at FoxBrook Park in Brookfield. Your student is not the only one

who is in the band - you are now part of the band family. Each

section brings a designated type of dish to share. The Boosters

provide the hamburgers and hotdogs. There is swimming in the

lake and games. It is an opportunity to get to know each other.

 


Sept/October-

Concessions

Football concessions is one of the Bands major fundraising

opportunities. A sign up genius is sent via email to all families for

parent volunteers to work a shift at the concession stand. You

are there to watch the band perform - stay and help support the

Band Booster program.


October-

End of marching season cookout/bonfire **

At the end of Marching season we have a chili feast & a bonfire.

Also, that evening the drum majors hand out awards for the

marching season - some serious & some fun awards. Again,

another great opportunity to get together with the Band family.


December-

Holiday Concerts Jazz & Concert band

All bands have Holiday concerts. The Jazz Band has their own

concert. The Concert Band, Wind Ensemble & Symphonic Band

all perform on the same evening. As an additional fundraiser, we

have a bake sale before and after the combined ensembles as

well as the middle school concert. We ask for parent volunteers

to send in baked goods and to help work the bake sale.

Bake sale in conjunction with Middle school Holiday Concert.

 


January & February-

Pep Band & Concessions **

In January & February during basketball season, the band keeps

the energy level high during the games and at halftime. Students

are required to perform at 5 games.


January-

8th grade plays with Pep Band/ 8th grade Ice Cream Social with families **

At one of the games during the basketball season, the 8th grade

students are invited to come & play with the band. Afterwards,

the boosters host all families including the 8th grade families for

an ice cream social in the cafeteria. A great night for incoming

families to meet and get acquainted with the Trojan Band.


March-

Solo & Ensemble - hosted at Tosa West - we do concessions **

All band members are required to participate in a solo or an

ensemble performance at the district music festival. This event

normally is in the beginning of March.


Sendiks Anniversary

Sendiks in Wauwatosa celebrates their store anniversary every

year and invites the band perform in front of the store to help in

the celebration.


April-

Spring Concerts Jazz & Spring

All bands have Spring concerts. The Jazz Band has their own

concert. The Concert, Wind & Symphonic bands all perform on

the same evening. As an additional fundraiser we have a bake

sale before and after the combined ensembles & the middle

school concert. We ask for parent volunteers to send in baked

goods and to help work the bake sale.


May-

State Solo & Ensemble

If a student qualifies for State, it is expected that the student

follow through with the process. The State competition is held at

various facilities, the band decides which date and location works

best for everyone.


End of the year banquet

The end of May we have a banquet to honor our seniors, along

with all of the bands. Solo & Ensemble medals are given along

with other achievements. Again, the drum majors announce their

awards.

The banquet is held at school - desserts & refreshments are

provided by the Boosters.


June -

Jazz Caberet **

The Jazz Band performs one evening in early June in the

Learning Center.


Senior Dinner

The seniors pick a restaurant venue to have dinner with the band

staff. An evening of memories and laughs are enjoyed by all.
