Band Camp 2018!

2018 Band Camp has concluded and the students pushed through a great week! They learned two of the three movements with drill and music... and had fun doing it! Thanks for all volunteers who have come to help fit uniforms, cook/serve dinner, and so much more! We hope that you can come out and see our rendition of James Bond soon! Check out the Photo Gallery for more great pictures.

Until then, please put Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm on your calendar for our weekly marching band rehearsal.

Congratulations to our 2018 March off Champions!

Will O Way 2017:

Will O Way 2017 was a huge success! Thanks to all the band members and their families for coming to celebrate the amazing accomplishments of the 2017 Trojan Marching Band! There was great chili, s'mores, karaoke, and of course those HOT peppers. Special thanks to the parents for joining us in karaoke. Take a look at some of the fun the night:

Wisconsin Dells and Wo-Zha-Wa Parade

On September 17th, the band traveled to the Dells to participate in the annual Wo-Zha-Wa parade, as well as to enjoy a weekend at the Wilderness Water Park and Resort. While there, we relaxed and enjoyed the facilities at the Wilderness, had an all-you-can-eat pizza dinner at Sorento's, enjoyed a breakfast buffet at Paul Bunyan's, and marched in the parade alongside dozens of other bands. Below, you can find pictures of our time.

Be sure to check in every day to see what your child is up to at Band Camp!

Day 1 - Sports Day

Band camp kicked off with a Sunday rehearsal to get everyone back into the Band Camp spirit! We started off with uniform fittings, to make sure that we all look our best when football season rolls around. Then, we began to work through our show music by playing through the show together for the first time as a band! Afterwards, we broke into sectionals to help work our individual parts in the music. We got back into a full group to put all our hard work to the test. We ended the day with yummy popsicles as a treat for all our hard work!

Day 2 - Color Wars

It was great to see everyone supporting their section with their spirit wear today! Saxophones showed the most spirit and won a special prize. Way to go, saxes! Today started off with a stretching circle to make sure we were all ready to march. We got into a basics block to learn the fundamentals of marching: forwards, backwards, and turns. After we started to look like we knew what we were doing, we started to learn our drill! We haven't quite gotten to marching with our instruments, but all in all, we made some good progress today. After a taco dinner, we spent some time inside working on our music. Don't forget your mismatch clothing tomorrow!

Day 3 - Mismatch Day

Our third day of band camp started out with our usual stretching circle. Then we went into our basics block, with the added twist of carrying our instruments. This was to help prepare us for marching and playing together on the field. After a quick water break, we began running drill while carrying our instruments and eventually playing along while we marched. To show us that he truly is the world's greatest band director, Mr. Kammerer let us have a popsicle break before dinner. We worked hard for the next couple hours, before we went inside for a sub sandwich dinner. After a small scheduling conflict with the tball team, we headed down to the stadium to start practice on the turf. Since we worked so hard today, and got so much done, Mr. Kammerer let us go home a few minutes early. See you all tomorrow, and don't forget to RSVP for the cookout!

Day 4 - Section Match

Since today is a shortened rehearsal, we made sure to really put our best effort in, and make the most of the time we had! We started with a quick warm-up, then began to learn drill for Part 2 without our instruments. With all our hard work, we were able to learn all of Part 2 and march along with the recording! See you at the cookout!

Day 5 - Backwards Day

Today started bright and early to get our warm-ups in before the rain. We learned how to set up our semicircle for our performance tomorrow. Afterwards, we ran through our music in place, before playing and marching Parts 1 and 2. We got inside just in time without getting too wet. While inside we worked through our music for part 2 as a group, before breaking into sectionals for most of the afternoon. Halfway through sectionals we took a quick break and had some popsicles as a reward for all our flexibility with the inclement weather.

Day 6 - Green and White Day

Our last day of band camp stared out with warm-ups just like every other day. After warm-ups, we began to run drill to make sure we were as ready as possible for our performance tonight. Once we had a grasp on our drill, we got into our semicircle to work on our show music. Our last part of our short day was to really work part 2 of the show where we've been having troubles, so we were ready to show off to our parents and community. At 4:30 we began our performance for the parents which went really well!
